Viewers Cheer Bits because they enjoy watching you! Finding a balance between your content and opportunities allows you to monetize more effectively. The more an audience member perceives the broadcaster to be entertaining and engaging, the likelihood of increasing revenue generated grows.

Bits are a purchasable virtual good that viewers can use to Cheer in chat to show support, celebrate moments, and amplify messages. Bits can be used one by one, all at once, or anything in between. Using many Bits at once shows more support through cool animations called Cheermotes.

Custom Power-Ups

You can create interactive rewards that viewers can request using Bits through Custom Power-Ups. You will find three default Power-Ups alongside any custom power-ups in the rewards panel of a stream. The best rewards are things only you can deliver, like "recommend who we raid", “select my hat”, "customize a character", or "write a poem for me."

Custom Power-ups can be paired with a Twitch Alert, so requests trigger a visible pop-up on stream. They can be added under Alerts on your Twitch Dashboard. You can adjust rewards at any time, and changes take effect immediately! Disabling a reward mid-stream will reflect live, so viewers will no longer see it.

Bits in Extensions

Monetized users can earn revenue when Bits are used in certain Extensions on their channel. These Extensions invite viewers to use Bits to activate special features, participate in activities, and show support to the creator. When Bits are used in an Extension, they support both the creator and the Extension developer.

You can invite viewers to generate actions within the stream or unlock digital consumables by using Bits in Extensions. From applying stickers to screens and trivia to interactive games and sounds there are Extensions for everyone. Select Extensions that match you, your community, and your content. Creators that use monetized extensions tend to generate on average 280% more Bits revenue than those that don't.
