Extensions

Twitch Extensions are interactive applications in the form of overlays and panels that integrate directly with your stream. Extensions cover everything from informative to interactive! They range from displaying details like leaderboards and loadouts, to interactive through the use of mini games or pop ups on screen. Some Extensions let viewers use Bits to trigger alerts, read text-to-speech messages, or influence your gameplay.

Selecting Extensions

There are hundreds of Twitch Extensions to choose from, allowing you to find the right experiences for your content and your community.

You can see which Extensions are available and install them directly from the Extension Manager on your dashboard.

When you install Extensions on your channel you increase engagement and interactivity, giving your audience more to enjoy. You can activate up to six Extensions at any given time: three Panel Extensions, two Component Extensions, and one overlay Extension. Too many moving parts on stream can be distracting for viewers, so it’s best to find a balance between everything happening on screen.

Monetizing with Extensions

Extensions empower streamers to uniquely engage their audience and earn more revenue through Bits in Extensions. Viewers can use Bits in Extensions to generate actions within the stream or even unlock digital consumables.

TWITCH TIP:
Creators with Bits-enabled Extensions can earn ~281% more Bits revenue monthly compared to creators without Bits in Extensions.

Monetized Extensions are tools that turn viewers into active participants. Viewers can influence in-game actions, be recognized through personalized alerts, and have exclusive interactive experiences, which increases both engagement and direct financial support.
