Creator Camp

Most viewers who tune into a stream on Twitch are seeking a way to be actively involved in your show or connect with you directly.

Alerts are images that can be programmed to pop up on stream, highlighting your community’s activities. Alerts showcase awesome moments and boost engagement by giving viewers a way to participate visually.

All streamers on Twitch can create and customize their own alerts. Personalized alerts create a unique experience for viewers and deepen audience connection.

Which Alerts Are Right For My Show?

You can add a variety of alerts onto your broadcasts. The most common alerts utilized are Follower, Subscriber, and Cheering notifications. Balancing how long each alert is displayed, whether or not a sound effect is triggered or which ones are visible is up to you!

Visual

Alerts can include custom images or animations. You can add brand aligned graphics, themed variations, or seasonal designs. Try adding a special overlay or goal tracker for an event.

Audio

You can add a custom sound effect or voice recording to your alerts. Consider volume variations, audio levels, and layered sound designs.

Text

Text is often displayed with alerts and can contain custom messages, unique fonts, and your branding colors. Choose a font size that is easy to read, but that doesn’t overtake the screen.

TWITCH TIP:
Ensure alerts do not take over your show and are placed on screen in areas not typically covering key elements of your performance, gameplay, or other important information your viewers want to see.

Add Extra Flair

Celebrations
Celebrations are animated effects you can add to Twitch alerts that make your own emotes rain down, shoot off, or burst into fireworks. You can add them onto existing alerts in the Creator Dashboard.

Third-Party Alerts
Third-party alerts originate from services that are not on Twitch. These services can include tips, charitable donations, merchandise sales, wishlist purchases, and in game interactions.

TWITCH TIP:
Test new alerts before going live to ensure audio and visual elements are balanced and that they are functioning as intended.
