I saw the record for the Japanese version of this game was 27:04 with all glitches, so I randomly decided to see if I could beat it in one attempt. Sadly, it took two full attempts instead. I probably won't bother trying to optimize this unless someone wants to compete on this version.

I beat this by 10 seconds racing Soupy later in the day but it didn't save the in-game time for some reason. So I guess this is the fastest I have right now officially. Oh well.

XBLA version world record as of 6/13/2012. The run is 29:28 in real time, which is 30 seconds faster than my previous best time from last year (and 20 seconds faster on the in-game timer). I was rusty on this category, and most of the time saved is thanks to new strats developed by Satoryu. I will stick with attempts at this for a while and hopefully can knock another 20 seconds off.
