I frequently play Dreamcast and original Xbox online. Because the online support for both of these systems is officially discontinued, I'll just write here how I'm doing that so you don't need to ask.

To get Dreamcast online there are several different guides you can follow. The first thing you'll need is a way to connect DC to the internet. There are currently four ways to do this:

1) Firstly you can buy a BBA (broadband adapter) this is quite expensive, but its definitely the most favorable way to connect Dreamcast to the internet. Unfortunately a BBA will run you about 200 dollars . You can find these if you look around EBay.

2) Another way to connect is to use a dial up ISP to connect Dreamcast through its dial up modem. I don't believe this works over VOIP phone lines like Vonage and such, so you would need to use a landline.

3) The third way is free of charge, but is slightly more difficult to do. This is called a PC-DC server. Or in other words a dial up server to connect your dreamcast to the internet through your PC. If you have a broadband connection this works great because you're able to share your broadband internet over a telephone line to allow Dreamcast to connect. 4) And the fourth way (which is what I am now using) you can set this up is by using a Netopia analog router and a phone line simulator as described in my other guide here: http://dreamcast-talk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3122

There are different things you need to do get certain games online. I'm not gonna discuss them all here. If you want more details on this go to: http://dreamcast-talk.com/forum/index.php However to get PSO online you'll want to look over this topic: http://dreamcast-talk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=274 At the moment there are 5 games total that can still be played online with Dreamcast. Those are: PSO, Quake III Arena, 4x4 Evolution, StarLancer, and Max Pool. To get Xbox online you'll need to do LAN tunneling. Note that you can only play games online which have System Link capability. There are about 150 games that can be played online in total. To tunnel Xbox online you can use either XLink Kai or XBConnect (XBC). I personally prefer XBC. Here is their website: http://www.xbconnect.com/
